The Eugenia Chapter is named for a plant that commonly is called Simpsons stopper, nakedwood stopper or twinberry stopper. Once upon a time when the Chapter was formed, its botanical name was Eugenia dicrana. Now its botanical name is Myrcianthes fragrans. Whatever you call it, this native plant makes a great landscape plant — a shrub or a small tree.
