Eugenia Chapter held its annual holiday pot luck on December 12, 2024 at the Environmental Learning Center . The two dozen attendees were treated to a variety of homemade foods, hot and cold. Pot lucks afford themselves a great opportunity to try new food dishes and, judging by how bare the food tables were by the end of the event, no one went away hungry!
The evening’s entertainment was provided by the Grinch Game. Participants actively “stole” several popular gift items back and forth. Those left empty handed went back to the gift table in hopes of unwrapping a new “treasure”. Florida native gift plants proved to be popular and were represented by: shiny leaf wild coffee (Psychotria nervosa), Tillandsia spp., butterfly orchid (Encyclia tampensis), and Jamaican caper (Quadrella jamaicensis). Thanks to whoever brought those fine tipped Corona pruning shears. They worked great to cut the suckers off my tomato plants!!
