May 2021: Yard of Fran Robinson

Fran Robinson, pictured above in a vintage FNPS t-shirt, is an avid gardener, and her garden continues to grow beautifully. She graciously has hosted us on 7/27/2017, 5/16/2019, and most recently on 5/20/2021.What a transformation!

A pretty privacy hedge of cocoplum (Chyrsobalanus icaco) has plenty of space to grow in the front yard …

The back yard has a mixed hedge of hammock plants and mounds of dotted horsemint (Monarda punctuata) and pineapple …

A magnificent myrsine (Myrsine cubana) is part of this privacy hedge …

A new arbor, built by her husband, will soon support lots fast-growing sky-blue cluster vine (Jacquemontia pentacarpos) and brought smiles from Jenifer Mina and Tom Brown …

Throughout the yard are lots of wildflowers including Tampa verbena (Glandularia tampensis) overflowng its bed edge …

… as well as seaside heliotrope (Heliotropium cursasavicum) beach dune sunflower (Helianthus debilis), and tickseed (Coreopsis leavenworthii), just a tiny example of the rich diversity found in this yard …
